The Albury Small Bore Rifle Club competes in target shooting at our Albury Rifle Club Range on Thursday nights commencing at 7.30pm.  We invite interested people from the age of 12 years and upwards to try the Olympic and Commonwealth Games sport of Target Rifle Shooting.  You will learn using the knowledge of excellent Coaches, Range Officers and many club members who have achieved great shooting achievements locally and also throughout Australia and overseas.

 

We encourage all learners to come and try our sport for four trial days. During this period a Firearms License in not compulsory.  After the trial period, if you desire to continue with shooting at our range, steps will need to be taken to obtain a license or a junior permit.  Our club will advise you in the steps required in obtaining a firearms license or permit.

 

During your trail period our club will provide club rifles.  A small fee will be charged for the ammunition you use.  Our initial training will instruct you to shoot from a support, this enables you to understand more, the aspects of a rifle, the ammunition, breathing and the important area of firearms safety to yourself and fellow competitors.

 

The most popular form of shooting is the prone position using open rifle sights, the club also offers Bench Rest, this is shot from a special bench using optical sights.  The calibre of ammunition used is .22.  We also offer Air Rifle which is shot from the standing position or support if required using .177 air pellets.

 

As a regular member, our Thursday range fee is $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for Juniors (current 01/08/2018).  As a visitor a fee of $30.00 is payable which includes 25 rounds of .22 ammunition and or .177 air pellets.  Once your trial period has finished, you will be required to become a member of the club.  Your yearly fee will cover insurance, fees to our State Association and the club’s administration costs. Sorry no EFTpos available Cash only on the Night.
